surprised to see love for the non-silver years of 00–02. as a Kings collector i don’t mind the purple year, but otherwise I don’t think I’d be a fan, and i don’t love the blue years either (big fan of the black parallels for those years though).

this is cheating a bit since it’s parts of multiple sets, but i’m working on all Sacramento Kings Topps Chrome gold refractors from 2001-2005 (or black in the case of 2001 and 2002).

mostly finished with 2002-05 except for a few Bibbys and a 2004 Doug ...

if someone has a cool story about the card, or just wants to explain why they love it, i’m all for it. makes it more enjoyable to me.

if it’s just a shameless sales pitch then no thanks — but i simply avoid following accounts that do that.

i’m not really a mem card guy but recently started a mini project to collect one patch card for each current Knicks player — starting with Randle.

for me it was 1990 skybox. the cards looked so different. the pics on the back were a nice touch. Loved the MJ playing golf and Karl Malone on a horse.

it didn’t hurt that I lived near Seattle and it was Shawn Kemp’s rookie year — and i got him to sign my Skybox rookie at a public appearance.
